Description

Transfection Reagent for VERO Cells (African Green Monkey Kidney Cells)

Product Information

Description

The Vero cell line was first derived from the kidney cells of African green monkeys in the 1960s. These cells are very useful for scientific research because they are easy to grow and can be maintained in culture for long periods of time. They are commonly used to make vaccines for diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella and polio. Scientists also use Vero cells to study how viruses such as coronaviruses and filoviruses replicate and cause disease.

Vero cells are important tools in the life sciences as they are used to make drugs and vaccines. They are special because they can divide and grow endlessly, which is helpful for scientists who need large numbers of cells for experiments. However, Vero cells cannot produce proteins called interferons, which help protect other cells from viruses.

Vero cells can be used for many different purposes, including detecting toxins and growing viruses and other parasites. CD BioSciences offer special kits to help scientists use Vero cells in research.

It should be noted that our products are for research purposes only. Not suitable for any clinical use.
