Description
Transfection Reagent for SK-MEL-28 Cells (Melanoma Cells, HTB-72)
Product Information
Description
SK-MEL-28 is a human melanoma cancer cell obtained from a patient with malignant melanoma. Researchers typically use the SK-MEL-28 cell line to study mechanisms about how melanoma develops and spread, and to test new treatments for this type of cancer. SK-MEL-28 cells harbor BRAF and NRAS gene mutations commonly found in melanoma, making them an excellent model for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying melanoma and testing drugs targeting these gene mutations. In addition, SK-MEL-28 cells have also been used to study how cancer spreads and becomes resistant to treatment. CD BioSciences manufactures a nanoparticle-based transfection kit for researchers using the SK-MEL-28 cell line.
