Product Information
Description
Neuro-2a (N2a) is a cell derived from tumors of the sympathetic nervous system in mice. Scientists use these cells heavily in the study of the brain and nervous system because they can become neuron-like cells when they are exposed to certain substances, such as retinoic acid. These cells had some special features, such as high expression of neuronal markers commonly found in neurons, such as neurofilament proteins. In addition, this cell line is also a p53-deficient cell line. Researchers use N2a cells commonly to understand how neurons grow and survive, and to test new treatments for diseases that affect the brain. CD BioSciences has a kit for the delivery of foreign substances to N2a cells for research on this cell line.
