Description

The nephron is the basic structural and functional unit of the kidney, consisting of the renal corpuscle and the renal tubule. The renal corpuscle consists of the renal capsule and the glomerulus. The renal capsule surrounds the glomerulus and migrates outward to become the renal tubule. The glomerulus is a blood filter whose filtration barrier consists of glomerular endothelial cells, glomerular basement membrane, and podocytes. There are mesangial tissues between the glomerular capillaries, including mesangial cells and mesangial matrix, which together support the glomerular capillary plexus, regulate glomerular filtration, repair the basement membrane, and remove foreign bodies and basement membrane metabolites. Studies have found that particles with a diameter of less than 70-100 nm can pass through the glomerular endothelial cells and stay in the basement membrane area or mesangial area; particles with a diameter of less than 5-7 nm can pass through the glomerular filtration barrier to reach the top of renal tubules. By modifying the corresponding aptamer (folate receptor), antibody (vascular adhesion molecule 1), or peptide (kidney targeting peptide and 3K peptide) on the surface of the nanocarrier, the carrier system can pass through the glomerular filtration barrier and interact with the kidney.

Our Kidney In Vivo Kit is a modified nanoparticle carrier formulation for safe, easy, and efficient delivery of nucleic acids and small proteins into the kidneys of small animals.

It should be noted that our products are for research purposes only. Not suitable for any clinical use.
