Description
In the realm of tumor cell lines, the subline KB is believed to have originated from the KERATIN-forming HeLa cell line. This remarkable line of cells was first established in 1951 from Henrietta Lacks, a working-class African-American woman who passed away at the age of 31 due to cervical cancer. As the first immortal human cell line to survive in a cell culture, the HeLa cell line has garnered attention, particularly for the ethical controversy surrounding the use of patient cells without informed consent. Despite these issues, the HeLa cell line played a crucial role in the development of the polio vaccine and in the discovery of telomerase. CD BioSciences is proud to offer high-quality transfection reagent kits for the KB cell line, which can be trusted for reliable and consistent results.
