Description

Transfection Reagent for Fibroblast Cells (Fibroblast Cell Lines and Primary Fibroblasts)

Product Information

Description

Fibroblasts are connective tissue cells that maintain tissue structure by secreting extracellular matrix precursors, including fibers and ground substance. They are derived from mesenchyme and exhibit diverse phenotypes in different anatomical locations. Fibroblasts have an elongated shape with branched cytoplasm and are able to slowly migrate as individual cells. They play a key role in wound healing and tissue remodeling by synthesizing collagen at the site of injury. Approximately 45% of the human body tissue mass is comprised of connective tissue, with fibroblasts being the most abundant cell type. Fibroblasts are commonly used in cell culture studies as a model system for connective tissue biology, drug screening, and toxicity testing. CD BioSciences provides optimized cationic lipid-based transfection reagent kits for transfecting various fibroblast cell lines.
