Description

Transfection Reagent for COLO-205 Cells (Colon Adenocarcinoma Cell, CCL-222)

Product Information

Description

COLO205 is a cell line that was derived from a human colorectal adenocarcinoma, which is a type of cancer that arises from the cells lining the large intestine. COLO205 cells are characterized by their ability to grow rapidly and form tumors in laboratory animals. They also exhibit a number of genetic and molecular abnormalities that are commonly found in colorectal cancer cells, including mutations in the APC, KRAS, and TP53 genes. These mutations contribute to the development and progression of the cancer by disrupting normal cell growth and division, promoting the growth of blood vessels that feed the tumor, and inhibiting the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. Therefore, the cell line is commonly used as a model system for studying the biology of colorectal cancer and for developing new therapies for this disease. In order to undertake comprehensive and nuanced explorations, it is absolutely critical to have a cell transfection system that is both effective and targeted in its approach. With this in mind, the scientific experts at CD BioSciences have successfully engineered a highly specialized transfection kit, specifically optimized for use with the COLO205 cell line.
