Description
The CHO-K1 cell line was isolated from a subclone of the CHO cell line derived in 1957 from the ovary cells of an adult Chinese hamster (cricetulus griseus). In addition to their usefulness in medical and biochemical research, CHO-K1 cells are particularly well suited for the synthesis of therapeutic proteins. This cell line requires proline for growth but makes a good transfection host. In order to undertake comprehensive and nuanced explorations, it is absolutely critical to have a cell transfection system that is both effective and targeted in its approach. With this in mind, the scientific experts at CD BioSciences have successfully engineered a highly specialized transfection kit, specifically optimized for use with the CHO- K1 cell line.
