Description

Transfection Reagent for A204 Cells (Rhabdomyosarcoma Cells)

Product Information

Description

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a rare but extremely aggressive cancer, accounting for approximately 40% of all documented soft tissue sarcomas in adults. Also, it is considered the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children. RMS has not been extensively studied so far; therefore, it is particularly important to select a suitable cell line with the desired properties. The A204 cell line has been shown to be a suitable host for RMS preclinical studies. A204 cells were derived from the muscle tissue of a one-year-old female with rhabdomyosarcoma in 1973. These are epithelial cells that can form small malignancies in nude mice consistent with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. A204 cells exhibit limited sensitivity to natural killer cell cytotoxicity. In an examination of transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of human laminin beta-2 chain in human tumor cell lines, A204 expressed laminin beta-2 chain mRNA and secreted beta-2 chain-containing laminin heterologous trimer. A2O4 has been studied for its ability to synthesize collagen types and other extracellular matrix proteins. For in-depth research, a specific cell transfection system is essential. For this reason, CD BioSciences has developed a specific transfection kit for A204 cell line.
