Description
13bp deletion
Target Information
Target Name SLC4A2
Gene Abbr. SLC4A2
Gene ID 6522
Full Name solute carrier family 4 member 2
Alias AE2, BND3L, EPB3L1, HKB3, NBND3
Species Human
Genomic Locus chr7:151064615
Transcript NM_003040
WT Expression Level 47.53 TPM (TPM = Transcripts per million; any value less than 3 is considered non-expressing)
Introduction This gene encodes a member of the anion exchanger family of membrane transport proteins. The encoded protein regulates intracellular pH, biliary bicarbonate secretion, and chloride uptake. Reduced expression of this gene may be associated with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) in human patients, while differential expression of this gene may be associated with malignant hepatocellular carcinoma, colon and gastric cancers.
