Target Information
Target Name PUMA
Gene Abbr. BBC3
Gene ID 27113
Full Name BCL2 binding component 3
Alias JFY-1, JFY1, PUMA
Introduction A novel p53 inducible pro-apoptotic gene was identified recently and designated PUMA (for p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis) in human and mouse. The PUMA gene encodes two BH3 domain-containing proteins termed PUMA-alpha and PUMA-beta. PUMA proteins bind Bcl-2, localize to the mitochondria, and induce cytochrome c release and apoptosis in response to p53. PUMA may be a direct mediator of p53-induced apoptosis.
Product Details
Host Rabbit
Clonality Polyclonal
Clone No. N/A
Isotype IgG
Immunogen A portion of amino acids 186-199 (PLPRGHRAPEMEPN) of human PUMA a was used as the immunogen.
Usage
Application WB, IHC
Dilutions Western Blot (1:500-1:1000); Immunohistochemistry (1:50-1:250)
