Target Information
Target Name PLCB4
Gene Abbr. PLCB4
Gene ID 5332
Full Name phospholipase C beta 4
Alias ARCND2, PI-PLC
Species Human
Genomic Locus chr20:9338027
Transcript NM_001172646
WT Expression Level 1.50 TPM (TPM = Transcripts per million; any value less than 3 is considered non-expressing)
Introduction The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the formation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate and diacylglycerol from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. This reaction uses calcium as a cofactor and plays an important role in the intracellular transduction of many extracellular signals in the retina. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010].
