Texas Red is a red fluorescent dye that, when combined with European Iris Lectin (UEA I), displays the binding pattern of the lectin in cellular imaging applications. There is little overlap between the emission spectra of Texas Red and FITC, which makes this combination ideal for dual labeling experiments. Rhodamine dyes, such as Texas Red, are more light-tolerant and less sensitive to pH changes than other dyes such as fluorescein."
