Description
Binding of Cy5 to the Ulex europaeus lectin (UEA I) allows the binding pattern of this lectin to be displayed in cellular imaging and flow cytometry.The excitation wavelength required for Cy5 fluorescence is high enough to avoid overlap with most other fluorescent dyes, making it useful for double labeling experiments. Because of this high excitation, biological specimens usually have less autofluorescent background.
