Description

Glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGPase, UDPGP) E.C=2.7.7.9. It is a key enzyme in the synthesis of sucrose, cellulose and other sugars. In Arabidopsis, UGPase-A has two cytoplasmic isomers (94% identity at the amino acid level) and UGPase-B has one chloroplast isomer with an identity of about 10-11% (Kleczkowski et al. 2011).
