Description

TIM8 (Mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit TIM8) is an intermembrane companion involved in the introduction and insertion of several multi-channel transmembrane proteins into the inner mitochondrial membrane. The TIM8-TIM13 complex mediates the import of some proteins, while the main TIM9-TIM10 70 kDa complex mediates the import of more proteins.
