Thioredoxin like protein HCF164, chloroplasts are involved in maintaining cellular REDOX homeostasis. This protein displays disulfide reductase activity and is involved in the biogenesis of plastid cytochrome b6f complex. The protein is located in the hydrophilic part of the C-terminal of the thylakoid membrane and contains a thioredoxin like domain that extends into the thylakoid cavity.
