Description

TGG2 | myrosinase 2 (BGL37) degrades glucosides (glucose residues linked by thioglycosides bound to amino acid derivatives) into glucose, sulfate and any product: thiocyanate, isothiocyanate, nitrile, epithelionitrile or oxazolidin-2-thione. These toxic degradation products deter herbivorous insects. It appears to play a role in protecting abscisic acid (ABA) and methyl jasmonate (MeJA) signaling in cells. TGG1 Function redundancy. Cell location: vacuole. Alternative names: β-glucosidase 37,AtBGLU37, Sinigrinase 2, glucosidase 2.
