Description

The affinity purified Succinylated cona is derived from the natural lectin cona (Con A). It is a non-agglutinin with carbohydrate specificity for linked mannose and glucose. The effect of suc-con A on the proliferation of human peripheral blood lymphocytes has been studied. Succ-Con A exhibits the same mitotic effect as natural Con A, both of which increase cyclic GMP levels in lymphocytes. Unlike Con A, high concentrations of suc-Con do not reduce mitotic activity. suc-con A reversibly blocks the growth of normal cells and restores the normal growth phenotype of transformed cells.
