SRP43(signal recognition peptide 43), part of the chloroplast signal recognition granule pathway, is required for post-translational targeting proteins to enter the thylakoid membrane, but appears to be essential in co-translational targeting where translational ribosomes are present. This protein acts as a highly specific companion to LHCPs, preventing aggregation and being able to dissolve aggregates. Alias: Chloroplast signal recognition peptide 43, CPSRP43, CAO, CHAOS
