SPS(sucrose phosphate synthase, EC 2,4,1,14) is a key enzyme in plant carbon flux into sucrose fixation, mainly catalyzing the synthesis of UDP-glucose and fructose 6-phosphate into sucrose phosphate in the cytoplasm of sucrose source leaf tissue.
