This antibody is also recognizing recombinant SiR protein from Zea mays.
Sulfite reductase (SiR) is an essential sulfite reductase active protein in the primary and secondary metabolic processes of the sulfate assimilation reduction pathway, which is involved in development and growth. It is considered to be a DNA-binding protein that can bind to both double-stranded and single-stranded DNA but has no apparent sequence specificity, reversibly inhibits chloroplast nucleoid transcriptional activity by promoting DNA compaction, and may regulate DNA replication. The homology of SiR Sequence between maize and Arabidopsis is 77%.
