Black ginseng lectin (EBL II/SNA II) is affinitively purified from elderberry bark. This lectin is a glycoprotein that contains 7.8% carbohydrates and is not blood group specific. It consists of two subunits and has a molecular weight of 140,000. EBL II is specific for carbohydrates containing terminal N-acetylgalactosamine and galactose residues.
