Rubisco depletion kits use specialized cartridges and proprietary Rubisco to remove buffers for simpler and more direct results.

One of the main goals of the scientific community is to dissect the components of the signal cascade by analyzing the leaf proteome. However, the main bottleneck is the presence of a highly abundant protein, rubisco, which makes up the majority of leaf proteins, at 40-80%. The high level of rubisco obscured the detection and identification of low abundance proteins by LC-MS/MS-based methods.
