Description

Red fluorescent protein (RFP) is originally isolated from the sea anemone dissoma sp. It is a natural fluorescent protein that responds to a specific wavelength of light, with a maximum wavelength of 558 nanometers and a red light with a maximum wavelength of 583 nanometers. It is used as a reporter molecule in the laboratory to label and study protein-protein interactions and protein localization.
