Description

The 22 kDa PsbS protein of photosystem II is involved in the regulation of photosynthetic light harvest. With the presence of low thylakoid pH and deepoxidation of lutein, PsbS are necessary for the photoprotective heat dissipation of excess absorption of light energy in plants, as measured by non-photochemical quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence. Synonym :NPQ4(non-photochemical quenching).
