Description

PsbO protein is a foreign subunit of the water-splitting photosystem II (PSII) complex. This protein is exposed on the lumen side of the thylakoid membrane and is highly conserved in all known oxygen-photosynthetic organisms. Other names for PsbO1 include the 33 kDa evolved oxygen system subunit of Photosystem II, the 33 kDa Evolved oxygen system subunit of OEC 33 kDa subunit, the 33 kDa thylakoid membrane protein of 33 kDa, the 33 kDa evolved oxygen system subunit of manganese stable protein 1 and the 33 KDA evolved oxygen system subunit of PsbO2 photosystem II, the 33 KDA subunit of OEC 33 kDa, and the 33 KDA subunit of PSBO2 kDa thylakoid membrane protein, manganese stable protein 2.
