Description

The photosystem I (PSI) of the chloroplast is a multisubunit membrane protein complex that catalyzes the transfer of electrons from plastocyanin (or cytochrome c6) reduced in the thylakoid cavity to oxidized ferredoxin (or xanthodoxin) in the chloroplast matrix.
