Protein/Nucleic Acid Extraction Kit from Gels

Cat: PE00066
Size: 20T
Datasheet:

Application

The protein/nucleic acid can be extracted from the gel in less than 10 minutes with a high yield.

Description

Passive elution and electroelution are the most common methods for extracting protein/nucleic acid from polyacrylamide/agarose gels. Protein extraction by passive elution usually requires overnight incubation. The eluted protein is significantly diluted and requires further concentration. Protein extraction by electroelution is faster (30 minutes to 2 hours) than by passive elution, but it requires a special elution device and is less effective for larger proteins (>70 kDa). Electrical buffers often contain detergents and other chemicals at concentrations that can interfere with downstream applications. Our kit can extract protein/nucleic acid from the gel in high yield within 10 minutes. Depending on the method of gel dyeing, the elution buffer can be a buffer containing detergent or pure water. The elution amount is between 10 and 200µl. One tube can process multiple gel blocks, resulting in a higher protein concentration.
