Description

Plastocyanin is a "blue" copper protein that catalyzes electron transfer between the cytochrome b6.f complex and P-700, the reaction center of photosystem i. It is synthesized as a preprotein with a molecular weight of about 17,000, translated into the chloroplast, and processed within the plastid into a mature form with a molecular weight of about 10,500.
