What are pAbs?
Stimulation of an immunized animal containing multiple antigenic determinants in which multiple B-cell clones produce antibodies against multiple antigenic epitopes. The resulting immune serum is a mixture containing multiple antibodies, known as pAbs.
Principle of pAbs Preparation
By injecting a specific antigen into an experimental animal, a certain immune response is stimulated in the host. A series of antibody-producing cells will bind to the antigen and produce different types of antibodies in the blood. Repeated immunization of the animal results in high titers of antigen-specific antibodies. Within a few weeks, polyclonal antibodies can be collected and purified from antisera.
