Alkaline phosphatase (AP) is coupled to Pisum sativum lectin (PSA/PSL) and has been shown to bind to PSA/PSL in a variety of applications including Western blotting and ELISA. Alkaline phosphatase is a large protein (140 kDa) that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate groups in substrates to produce colored or fluorescent products. The optimal enzymatic activity of this protein is between pH 8 and 10, and it maintains a linear reaction rate, with sensitivity increasing over time."
