Description

MEB1(membrane protein of endoplasmic reticulum 1) has iron ion transmembrane transport activity, which isolates excess cytoplasmic iron and manganese into the endoplasmic reticulum to reduce the toxicity of metal ions. It is not necessary for the accumulation of endoplasmic reticulum components.
