m6A (N6-methyladenosine) is a modified base that is abundant in the mrnas of most eukaryotes and is found in tRNA's, rRNA's, snRNA's, and long non-coding RNA's. Adenosine methylation is catalyzed by m6A methyltransferase, a large protein complex that takes precedence over the consistent sequence GGACU.
