Description

The light harvesting protein Lhca1 is one of the four major and highly conserved chlorophyll a/b binding proteins (LHCA1-4) of the light harvesting antenna (LHCI) of plant light system i. Lhca1 enters the chloroplast from the cytoplasm as a precursor. After insertion into the thylakoid membrane, Lhca1 forms a heterodimer with Lhca4 (LHCI-730), which binds to the PSI core near PsaG and PsaF.
