Lens Culinaris Agglutinin (LCA), Fluorescein

Cat: PL00707
Size: 5 mg
Sugar Specificity: Mannose
Datasheet:

Description

LCA recognizes sequences containing alpha-linked mannose residues, but recognizes additional sugars as part of the receptor structure, making its specificity narrower than that of Con a. The α-linked focused residues attached to the n-acetyl-chitosan portion of the core oligosaccharide significantly enhance the affinity. Using this narrow specificity, after initial separation with Con a, it is possible to decercate glycoproteins and glycopeptides with LCA. Fluorescein-labeled LCA has the appropriate amount of fluorescent dye to provide the best staining properties for this lectin. This conjugated substance basically does not contain unconjugated fluorescent dyes. The excitation maximum is 495nm and the emission maximum is 515nm.
