Description

IPP isomerase (EC=5.3.3.2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the reversible isomerization of IPP to dimethylallyl pyrophosphate. Dimethylallyl pyrophosphate is the initial substrate for the biosynthesis of carotenoids and many long-chain isoprene analogs.
