Description

hoa belongs to the serine type deoxypolypeptidase family, which is widely present in bacteria and eukaryotes. The family consists of three related members, HhoA (DegQ), HtrA (DegP), and HhoB (DegS). hoa is a highly hydrophilic protein that may be present in soluble compartms. Studies have shown that Deg proteases have overlapping functions in cyanobacteria and are required for photoprotection in photosystem II.
