Description

Common histone modifications include methylation of lysine and arginine, acetylation of lysine, phosphorylation of threonine and serine, threonylation of lysine, biotinylation, and ubiquitination. Specifically, the methylation of arginine 8 on the histone H3 (H3 R8me2s) is associated with transcriptional inhibition.
