Description

Common histone modifications include methylation of lysine and arginine, acetylation of lysine, phosphorylation of threonine and serine, threonylation of lysine, biotinylation, and ubiquitination. Specifically, trimethylation of K27 is associated with gene silencing, while pS28 is associated with mitosis and direct early genes.
