This antibody is recognizing native and denatured fusion proteins containing the GST-Tag sequence expressed in E. coli, yeast, mammalian, and in vitro transcription/translation systems. It can be also used for immuno purification of GST-tagged proteins.
Schistosoma japonicum glutathione S-transferase (GST-tag, glutathione S-transferase) is a marker added to proteins for protein purification and detection. It allows the purification of immobilized glutathione by affinity chromatography. GST is used as a fusion protein with foreign proteins in a variety of prokaryotic expression vectors, including the pGEX family. The label is 220 amino acids long, about 26 kDa, which is quite large compared to Myc or FLAG labels.
