GSL I-B4 isolates contain only B subunits. It is a useful marker for endothelial cells in non-primates, such as mice, rats, rabbits, and goats, as well as for non-peptidenergic non-myelinated primary afferent neurons. This "B" -rich lectin preferentially agglutinates the blood group B cells and is specific for alpha-galactose residues.
