Description

Glycine max agglutinin (SBA) is isolated and purified. It consists of four subunits of the same size. SBA is specific for A1, A2, and B blood groups and interacts better with ceramidase-treated cells than untreated cells. The lectin has a selective affinity for lymphocytes and human CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells. Immobilized SBA conjugate is an important tool for clearing t cells in bone marrow transplantation.
