Description

Green fluorescent protein (Venus) comes from Aequorea victoria(jellyfish) and can be mutated to fluoresce at different wavelengths, such as BFP being blue (when tyrr-66 is replaced by His), CFP being cyan (when tyrr-66 is replaced by Trp), and CFP being blue (when Tyrr-66 is replaced by TRP). YFP, which is yellow (when THR-203 is replaced by Tyr), is an energy transfer receptor whose role is to convert the blue chemiluminescence of the aequorin protein into green fluorescence through energy transfer. DyLight 594 has an Amax = 593 nm and an Emax = 618 nm. DyLight is a registered trademark of Thermofisher Inc. and its subsidiaries.
