Description

The plant cell wall surrounds the plant cell, forming a complex network of polysaccharides, including cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin polysaccharides, and glycoproteins. Anchored or embedded in the plant cell wall are other polymers, such as lignin, lignin, or cutin. Extensins are a class of elastic, rod-like, hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins (HRGPs) on plant cell walls.
