Description

Con A recognizes alpha-linked mannose as a "core oligosaccharide" present in many serum and membrane glycoproteins. Biotinylated canavalin A binds the right amount of biotin to provide the best staining properties for this lectin. This conjugate contains essentially no unconjugated biotin and is preserved with sodium azide.

Recommended dilution

For most applications we recommend a freshly prepared working solution of 5-20 µg/ml in the below buffer.

10 mM HEPES, 0.15 M NaCl, pH 7.5, 0.01 mM MnCl2, 0.1 mM CaCl2, 0.08% sodium azide, 10 mM alpha methylmannoside.
