Description

ClpP6 (ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit 6, chloroplast) is a component of the chloroplast Clp protease core complex that cleaves peptides in various proteins in a process that requires ATP hydrolysis. Plays a major role in the degradation of misfolded proteins. It is mainly expressed in leaves, but also in stems, and to a lesser extent in roots (protein level). Aliases: ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit 6, chloroplast, endopeptidase ClpP6, nClpP6,nClp1
