Description

ClpP4 (ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit 4, chloroplast) is an enzyme that cuts peptides in various proteins in a process that requires ATP hydrolysis. Showed chymotrypsin-like activity. It plays a major role in the degradation of misfolded proteins and is essential for chloroplast development and integrity and embryogenesis. Alias: endopeptidase ClpP4, nClpP4.
