Description

Clathrin is a protein that is involved in intracellular transport and plays a major role in the formation of coated vesicles. It consists of 3 clathrin heavy chains and 3 light chains, selectively sorting cargo in cell membranes, trans-Golgi networks and endosomal compartments for a variety of membrane transport pathways.
