Description

Chlorophenol and other aromatic hydrocarbons are serious environmental pollutants that affect health. These compounds are already widely used in the production of pesticides, herbicides and wood preservatives. They can also be produced as a by-product of industrial operations, such as pulp bleaching processes and water chlorine disinfection. Chlorophenols are released into the environment and can enter the water stream through various transport mechanisms and can also be chemically absorbed onto soil surfaces and aquatic sediments.
